PROJECT DATED:

SEP24

Teri (Dance in Malay) was a personal project that I created back in August 2025 as a 'celebration post' for Malaysia's 68th Independence Day and 62nd Malaysia's Day (later), featuring 'Telepuk', 'Terinai' and 'Ngajat'. I wanted to showcase the hidden, significant part of Malaysia's culture to promote the available heritage.

Originally, This series was supposed to have 5 illustration, featuring 'Wau' and 'Alu Alu'. However due to the time constraint following the project, I limit the illustration to just three as aforementioned.

PROJECT DATED:

SEP24

This project is the first time I started exploring Illustrator under the unit DDA111: Introduction to Digital Media Design. We were tasked by creating postcards with pre-selected theme designated for us. I wanted to explore the racial unity in Malaysia by selecting 3 floral that are associated with our country: Hibiscus, Mangosteen and Paddy

Yes, fruit does count as "flora". Anyway, scroll down to see the artwork!

HIBISCUS: Unity Towards Progress

The hibiscus represents the 5 National Principles (Rukun Negara), which also signifies the harmonious relationships between different ethnicities in Malaysia.

MANGOSTEEN: The Never-ending Reconciliation & Hope

The juice of mangosteen brings freshness and streams movement; symbolising the never-ending reconciliation and hope towards the future.

PADDY: The Harvesting of Prosper

Featuring the traditional Malay kite, Wau, flying above the paddy field as the harvesting of prosperity. Each emblem decorates the wau whole, with the stars trails through with the paddy.
