PROJECT DATED:

AUG25 & SEP25

Teri (Dance in Malay) was a personal project that I created back in August 2025 as a 'celebration post' for Malaysia's 68th Independence Day and 62nd Malaysia's Day (later), featuring 'Telepuk', 'Terinai' and 'Ngajat'. I wanted to showcase the hidden, significant part of Malaysia's culture to promote the available heritage.

Originally, This series was supposed to have 5 illustration, featuring 'Wau' and 'Alu Alu'. However due to the time constraint following the project, I limit the illustration to just three as aforementioned.

NGAJAT is a dance performed by the Iban community, usually performed during Gawai Dayak. There are different types of Ngajat dances specifically performed for certain events. This drawing too also showcases the tattoos of the Iban people, defining of who they are and the stories of their adventures.
